ASEC stands for A SECond Chance. I started it because businesses, like people, deserve a real shot, and a real shot is one you own. Every website, every content system and every email setup ASEC delivers is built in the client’s name and handed over completely. You built the business. You should be the one holding the keys.
Why everything you pay for belongs to you
For eight years I ran operations for a real estate company in Connecticut. Marketing, client communication, the office, the invoices, and the website all came through my desk. If something on the site had to change, I was the one who changed it, or the one who found out it couldn’t be changed.
In those years the company’s website lived on three different platforms. Each move meant starting over. The design didn’t come with us. The layout didn’t come with us. The pages we had paid to build didn’t come with us. Whatever we could save, we saved by hand. Everything else was rebuilt from nothing, and paid for again.
That was the first lesson. We paid for that website every month, for years, and we never owned a single piece of it.
The second lesson was about control. The templates decided what the business was allowed to look like. When we wanted something the template didn’t offer, the answer was usually no. Sometimes it was yes, for a higher plan or for the platform’s own design team. Even then, what we paid for stayed in their building, under their rules, and would have stayed behind the day we left.
I didn’t think any of this was unusual. It’s how most of the web works. Most small businesses rent their website, and most of them don’t find out until the day they try to leave.
ASEC builds so that day never comes. Your domain is registered to you. Your hosting account is yours. Your site lives in an account you control. At launch ASEC hands you a written guide to where every key lives. If you ever want to work with someone else, you can, and everything comes with you.
Any tool can build a website now, and the AI builders are getting good. I use them too. But a site made in someone else’s workspace and kept in someone else’s building is still rented, however smart the tool that made it. The question was never who builds it. The question is whose name is on the keys when it’s done.
I build it this way because I spent eight years on the other side of it.

I am Nicholas Aponte-Rodriguez, the founder of ASEC. I handle the strategy, design direction, development, communication, and delivery for every client engagement. When you work with ASEC, you are not passed from a salesperson to a project manager and then to someone you have never met. You work directly with the person building the foundation.
That is intentional. A good website or content system requires more than a clean visual. It requires listening closely, asking direct questions, and making decisions that respect the business you have actually built. My role is to help you bring that work into focus online.

Fifteen years in healthcare and hospice care
Listening properly was the job, and getting the details right was not a matter of taste. That work set the standard I still hold: be clear, be honest about what you can and cannot do, and treat the person in front of you as someone with something real at stake.
